About Saltworks Properties

Dave Rowley and family, owners of Saltworks Properties in Eastern North Carolina

Saltworks Properties is a local real estate investment company and licensed North Carolina real estate brokerage serving homeowners throughout Eastern North Carolina. We buy houses, renovate them, and sell them ourselves. But buying your house isn’t always the best answer for you.

That’s one of the biggest differences in how we do business. If selling directly to us makes sense, we can make you a fair cash offer and buy your house as-is. If we believe you’d be better off listing your house on the MLS and selling for top market value, we’ll tell you that — and we can help you do that too. Our goal isn’t to buy every house. It’s to help you make the best decision for your situation.

We’re also hands-on with the houses we buy. We don’t just look at a formula on a spreadsheet and throw out a number. Years of experience with construction and renovation help us understand what a house actually needs, what those repairs are likely to cost, and whether making repairs before selling would put more money in your pocket or simply create more work and expense.

We’re based right here in Eastern North Carolina and work with homeowners in Jacksonville, Havelock, Morehead City, Newport, Hubert, and the surrounding communities. We care about the quality of the homes we renovate and about our reputation long after a transaction is finished.

For us, it’s pretty simple: be straightforward, do what we say we’re going to do, and treat people the way we’d want to be treated. Whether you need to sell quickly, have a house that needs a lot of work, want to get the most you can from a traditional sale, or simply don’t know which direction makes sense yet, we’ll help you understand your options without pressure.

Meet Dave & Brett

Saltworks Properties is owned and operated by Dave and Brett Rowley. We’re a husband-and-wife team, and Eastern North Carolina is home for us. This is where we live, work, go to church, and spend time with our family.

Dave is a licensed North Carolina Real Estate Broker and General Contractor. Before real estate, his path included serving as a North Carolina State Trooper, playing professional golf, and working in executive protection for Fortune 250 company leaders, celebrities, and dignitaries. Those careers all required the same things we value at Saltworks Properties — preparation, attention to detail, keeping your word, and doing the job right.

We help homeowners throughout Eastern North Carolina figure out the best way to sell. We’ll tell you what we believe is best for you, even when it isn’t the option that benefits us most. That’s how we think a local business should operate.

How We Work With Homeowners

Every homeowner’s situation is different, so we start by listening. We want to understand the house, your timeline, and what matters most to you before we recommend anything.

If a direct sale makes sense, we’ll explain what we can pay, how we arrived at the number, and what selling as-is would look like. If listing the property is likely to leave you in a better position, we’ll explain that option too. And if we think you should make a few repairs before selling — or shouldn’t spend another dollar on the house — we’ll tell you that.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer. Our job is to give you good information, explain the tradeoffs, and let you decide what works best for you.
